Party with Frix
My first CouchSurfing in SouthAmerica. Lucas many many thanks for all you did for me!!!
In Sao Paulo arrived i had first of all bad luck with the weather. From time to time it was raining but not really heavy. The whole week in sp I spent at a couch surfing place. As i haven't surfed so much couches so far i was quite shy. Since the beginning Lucas said "feel at home". He was so relaxed and nice to me that i was believing to be at home together with him and his sister. I especially remember a chat about life, emotions and behaviour to our self. His mom died. She was working really hard before she got told to die. After that time she still understood to relax and to enjoy life before she died. Unfortunately my father did got that chance before he died. Actually we had the same story to tell :-). Lucas shown me the differences to people from south america and Europe. He said we don't understand to life in the present and actually for me that's 100% the case. I always wants to think about the next steps while i forgot to enjoy the moment. My go al for this year to change this!!!!
SP is really expensive place but this is for you guys nothing new. In Brazil you are often paying your food per kilo which is really really bad for me as i always eating abnormal portions. My friends from my previous company knows what i mean :-).
I was leaving in Paulista district which is actually really beautiful and one of the best area to stay. Paulista is close to Augusta street where you will find a lot of nice clubs like >>>clash
During the day i went to MASP gallery(brazil's best arts gallery) for free or was walking to the old city. Ok ok i didn't went the whole way by foot i took the subway as i like it to use public transportation. Sė and Lux subway station are nice to visit. At Praça da Sé you will find a cathedral (new gothic). While drinking some Sucos de Maracujá everthing is easy going. At Mercado Municipal don't buy you much fruits as they are really expensive there. Just taste some fruits and buy small things :-). A must for all Sp travellers is Parque Ibirapuera. I went there for almost one day(see pictures).
If you heading one time into paulista ave remember to eat your dinner insight the building on the opposite site from masp. There you can have buffet with no kilo limit for 9.9 BRL.
In Sp i joined a cs meeting? With 180 people in a small place it was really crowded. After that meeting we went to an rock party where i lost my german sim card. Don't know how :-). Please don't send sms to those number anymore. Will publish quite soon a new german number :-).
Thais thank you to taken me to the free samba concert and deliciouse bakery. Yummy the cake was nice. I hope to have one time the chance to show you my place whereever i will end up. Since Sp i started to eat cakes let see if it will helps me to become fet. Your tip about the free instrumental samba was just awesome. It was funny as i thought to go there alone but as i couldn't find the place i ask someone for the way. So i met Eric which went together with me to those place. Thanks for the hotdog man hope to see you one time in germany or wherever in the world.
As i stayed in Sp during a weekend i had the chance to enjoy the nightlife. Thanks Frix for the nice party. You knows how to make party. Even without to speak portugese i found a way to communicate with an lady from sp.
Before i left SP to Ihla Grande island i met Cathi a former schoolmate. She is working for Lufthansa as a flight assistant. Crazy how small the world can be. Just due to a Face msg i recognized that she is in SP. Thanks for the great afternoon and the long chat we had.
Jammy that cake was delicious :-)
From Manaus i took me the air plane to sao paulo as the rate for it was quite fair. I paid 172€. The flight was supposed to be at 23h but.... after almost 1hour power outage and i mean really everything went down no ups or whatever took place that means the whole airport area was absolutly dark. Manaus will be a place where games for the football worldcup 2014 will be shown. I guess till that time they have to improve the situation a littel bit. At the aiport while checkin and everything is really dark a nice feeling you should have it tried one time.
In Manaus i still had 38° and in sao paulo is just 23° :-(
After 5 days boat trip on the amazon i stayed some futher days in manaus. Unfortunatly i couldn't went into the jungle as i got seriously problems with my stomach. Two days on the boat and 3 days after i had crazy diarrhea might be caused by an parasite inside the water on boat as someone told me. Honestly such a strange diarrhea i did never had before. Fortunatly its now almost over and i could eat again normal. The last day on boat and in manuas i didn't eat anything as i couldn't. At the boat i spend some hours in front of the toilett :-) Hehe thats fun and i was wondering that people from the crew of such transport ship where the englishman, scotsman and me went on didn't said anything to me either nor recognized me. The boat was realy nice it was an transport ship not a tourism boat so we had plenty stops where always plenty stuff was loaded . Just the tons of onions wasn't that much nice as if you have problems with your stomach and have to smell onions the whole time you could belive me i was quite often short before to vomit. So guys as i didn't went to jungle the adventure pic still have to wait but i will do the jungle tour in bolivia where its also much cheaper. Anyway i will post some pic in the next days.
Sleeping in a hammock was really nice except that there wasn't much space between each hammock so it wasn't unsual that sometimes the knie or foot from the neighbour came across :-) .
In manaus arrived i was first of all really happy to be able to buy me big bottel of cola and some mangos to help me with my stomach. Manaus was the first place in brazil where i could spend time in a park to enjoy the sun without to feel unsafe. An the park was clean even it was a public park.
Nice delicious food at the fish marked in Belem
